“Where we’re going, we don’t need roads.” - Doc Brown, Back to the Future

For people of a certain generation, there was a vision of the future that featured flying cars and hoverboards, and whilst that hasn’t materialised yet (still hoping!), the world of AI technology that we live in today, is the stuff that science fiction is made of. As AI develops, so too does Digital Voice’s approach to it; we’re constantly exploring how we can use it creatively, and how it can enhance our participants’ experience. One of our longest running projects, Photo Club, has been using the latest tech to take a step into the future.

Photo Club is one of Arts Connect’s longest running inclusive programmes. This Newcastle Council funded initiative has been supported for almost 12 years, which is a testament to its continuing success. It is a regular space for families with children and young people with and without additional needs to come together and be creative in a friendly, informal setting.

Our FutureMe project is a new facet of our content creation offer. The group developed 3D AI models of themselves and then crafted prompts to create a version of themselves in the future.

“This was a really fun session, lots of laughs! But even just asking the questions of ‘where will I be?’ ‘What will I be doing?’ led to some very creative and aspirational conversations, which translated into really good photo art. I think the creative potential of this technology is massive.”

Feeling inspired? Here’s how you can get involved:

From a base at Newcastle City Library, our families get out and explore the wonderful range of places, both urban and rural, that the North East has to offer. Their work is then celebrated in a regular public exhibition.  We run sessions 10-12 noon and 1-3 pm on the second Saturday of each month, based at Newcastle City Library. Children and young people aged up to 25 can attend with a family member and the group is supported by a Digital Voice facilitator.
