Drawing Together Digitally

We are very excited to add two brand new courses to the Digital Voice offer, digital drawing and 2D animation.

Our groups will learn how to draw, paint and animate on an iPad, bringing their imaginations to life with this innovative way to do art. We’re delighted to launch this programme with Hamsterley Community Centre, South Moor Library and Stanley Youth Club with two youth groups and two groups for older people.

This project was funded by Durham County Council’s Covid Outbreak Managed Fund for Community Cultural Events

“It’s great to see communities coming back together to enjoy cultural activities and learn new skills.  Making digital activities accessible and celebrating local talent is really important and we’re delighted to support Digital Voices to deliver this work in North Durham.”

Kylie Lloyd, DCC Community Arts Manager

Look out for the exhibitions which will be online and in person once the project is complete - drawing both generations together to celebrate their achievements and local culture. We can’t wait to see their work.

As with many of our programmes, Digital Drawing targets those who experience digital exclusion and uses a creative platform to teach transferable digital skills.
