Awards season has arrived for Digital Voice
We’re feeling very excited and grateful at Digital Voice HQ after finding out we’ve been nominated for not one but four awards!
First up in the Prolific North Awards, which celebrate the organisations driving the North’s tech industry forward, we’ve been shortlisted for both Tech For Good and Best Use of AI categories.
We’ve been writing and talking about our use of AI in our existing programmes like DigitalMe and PhotoClub, as well as brand new programmes like DreamIt that really embraced the creative potential of the technology, so as you can imagine, it’s exciting to have it publicly recognised like this.
And also…
We’ve been nominated for two Northern Power Women Awards, which recognise and celebrate the amazing role models in and from the North. Again, our innovative use of AI technology has been recognised by the Tech For Good Award and our Managing Director, Julie Nicholson, has been nominated in the Person with Purpose category, for her passion and drive to make peoples lives better through digital technology.
“For the young people in the North East, where digital exclusion is higher than anywhere else in the country, as well as child-poverty and an ever widening attainment gap, the AI skills we can teach them, presents a real opportunity. For us; a chance to nurture ambition, raise aspirations, teach real-world skills that will lead to future employment, create high quality work that is genuinely young person led. For them, it’s another item in their creative toolkit, it’s a way to express themselves, it’s a new skill that puts them at the vanguard of this rapidly developing technology; it’s the very definition of how you can use tech for good.”
- Julie Nicholson
We’ll find out in November and next March if we’ve been successful but we’re genuinely pleased just to be nominated - fingers and toes crossed ‘til then!
