LifeBooks
Create a once-in-a-lifetime experience for your care home residents, their families and your staff.
LifeBooks is a ten-week programme that allows care home residents, including people with dementia and alzheimers, to tell their life stories.
Guided by Digital Voice experts, your residents and a loved one or carer will go through the process of capturing their life story sharing some unforgettable moments along the way.
We use iPads, music, photographs and memories to create each person’s individual LifeBook.
Create new memories
Expect impromptu sing-a-longs, laughter, smiles, poignant moments, shared history and more. The journey of LifeBooks brings together care home residents, families and care home staff.
A keepsake to treasure
Every person and their family will have their LifeBook to keep at the end of the programme, giving families a keepsake to treasure forever.
Support along the way
Our experts have lots of experience of working with people with dementia and alzheimers, we provide all the equipment needed and no prior digital skills are required to take part.
Improve CQC rating
The LifeBooks project can improve your CQC rating as it can help to improve care home residents quality of life, and it is a project that can bring staff, residents and families closer.
“LifeBooks has been one of the most enjoyable projects we have been involved in. Residents, their families and our staff have enjoyed every single minute of it.”

The benefits of LifeBooks
Improves Wellbeing
From listening to music from the past to looking through old photographs many staff, residents and families have said that working on the LifeBooks project was a highly enjoyable experience.
Boosts digital skills
LifeBooks are created using an iPad, and for many people this is the first time they use one. LifeBooks can be a great way for residents to boost their digital skills.
Captures cherished memories
LifeBooks can help unlock and capture treasured memories of people living with dementia and alzheimers. This can be the first time many family members hear the full life story of their loved ones.
Reduces social isolation
All the sessions are done in a group. They reminisce together, digitise photos, record audio, find music and sometimes even sing together.
“The sessions have provided a wonderful opportunity for Mum and I to work together along with other residents and their families. A small social group has formed and it is lovely to see the interaction between the various members: laughing at their stories, admiring their achievements, realising they frequented the same dance halls, or remarking on their youthful beauty.”
Pam Jose, daughter of 89 year old Jean Jose
