Digital Voice Receives Funding Boost From The National Lottery Community Fund
Here at Digital Voice HQ, we’re on cloud nine after being awarded our biggest ever grant from The National Lottery Community Fund - three years of funding! That’s right, three years of funding which we will use in our continued mission to improve the lives of communities across Gateshead and beyond.
The National Lottery Community Fund is the largest funder of community activity in the UK, thanks to National Lottery players who raise over £30 million a week for good causes across the UK. The National Lottery Community Fund distributes a share of this to projects to support people and communities to prosper and thrive.
Our three-year grant will fund a range of digital projects for disadvantaged and digitally excluded people, with a focus on practical skills which we know can genuinely improve people’s lives and employment prospects.
Julie Nicholson, our Managing Director, comments:
“I am delighted and so grateful! This is huge for us and not just the size of the grant, it’s the fact that we have guaranteed funding for three years, which ensures that we can deliver projects that are not simply one-offs but have longevity built into them. The relationships we have with our partner organisations are vital to our work; funding like this allows us to make long-term, meaningful connections.”
Julie and the team will work in collaboration with up to fifteen regional partners, including local community centres, to deliver a range of bespoke digital projects, tailored to meet the needs of each group. We’ll focus on areas such as: creative digital skills; media literacy; active citizenship; improving intergenerational connections; improving mental health and wellbeing.
Planning for these projects will start just as soon as we’ve peeled ourselves off the ceiling, and Julie cannot wait:
“The team is excited and we’re already making the connections with our partners. I must say a huge thank you to my team for pulling together a brilliant application and to all National Lottery players who have made the funding for this project possible; it’s going to make a real difference to people’s lives.”
We’ll be keeping you updated on the progress of these projects as they develop - good luck team!
