Delight and praise for LifeBooks project

“I just wanted to say again a big thank you to you and your team for the Digital Voice LifeBooks delivered at our Derwent Care Home” Mary Blake, Head of Quality and Compliance, Mariposa

A lady receiving her LifeBook with a big smile on her face.

Digital Voice were delighted to present digital and printed copies of residents LifeBooks at an event that took place at Derwent Care Home. Friends, family, carers and volunteers that were involved in the project gathered to view the digital versions.

During LifeBooks, memories and photos are gathered and collated into digital and printed versions. This sometimes includes recording audio of the participants retelling fond anecdotal memories of their life’s journey to be included in the digital copies. Both are given as a legacy to the participants at the end of the course.

Mary went on to say, “The residents, families and staff got so much out of this work and it was a delight to see the reactions of the residents and their families throughout the presentation. I think everyone appreciated the poignancy of the work, the moving moments, both happy and sad, the laughs, songs and memories and the genuine bringing together of our residents, families and staff.”

We are hoping to work with Derwent Care Home again soon to record more memories and explore more stories with another course of LifeBooks.

“ We at Derwent Care Home can’t thank you enough for the hard work you have put in over the past ten weeks, with abundance of patience skill and understanding. We have all enjoyed their stories and looking at their photos, a reminder that everyone was young once and you can’t avoid getting old.
