Who Takes Part

We have delivered VJ workshops with groups across the region with schools, youth clubs and organisations.

To provide training in creative new media skills; mixing visuals live to music.

Project Outline

We deliver these workshops at schools, youth centres and with organisations across the region. VJing combines new video art technology/ editing and camera work with music. Participants perform their VJ sets live to music at the end of the course. If you are working towards a live performance then we can provide mentoring, support and the equipment your group needs to wow the audience.

What Happened

The workshops can be delivered in a variety of formats; over one day or several depending on the level the group would like to achieve. The course can be run over two or more sessions and can involve some IT and editing. We also offer train the trainers courses, mentoring and support for teachers and youth workers.

At the end of a day-long workshop trainees can VJ live to a music track.

Sharing The Results With Others

We have supported trainees to VJ live at events such as the Sage Gateshead and Gateshead Council’s achievement event for looked after young people.

Benefits for Participants

The groups develop a new way of communicating with an audience as well as media skills such filming, IT skills including editing and use their creativity. Performing live at the end of the workshop raises self esteem.
