Roycroft VJ sets

Three days of creative activity for the youth club at Roycroft clinic. The groups learned to VJ and performed live, with fabulous results!

Who Took Part

A small group of young people who use the services of the Roycroft Clinic at St Nicholas Hospital, Newcastle.

  • to learn new media skills and I.T and work creatively
  • to try something new and have fun in the school holidays

What Happened

We provided workshops in VJ skills, using video cameras and basic editing. Trainees learned the skills involved in successful VJ performance and some of the technical tips to help them when they using VJ software.

Then we delivered a tailored workshop helping the group develop VJ sets.

Each person produced a live VJ set to a music track by the end of the day, performed in front of the other trainees to great applause.

Benefits for Participants

The groups had the opportunity to work in pairs, developed new media skills, using cutting edge technology, consolidated their learning and had the added thrill of doing a live performance. The sets can be viewed, below.
