John Boste Digital Collage Project

Digital Voice worked with two groups of young people at the Streets Project, John Boste Youth Centre, in Walker.

Who Took Part

Digital Voice worked with two groups of young people at the Streets Project, John Boste Youth Centre, in Walker.

purpose

The group were keen to produce digital collages of photos they have taken of their activities across the year. They decided to produce collages using different apps on iPads to create an exciting visual display of the great work done at the centre.

    What Happened

The young people were keen to build on the photography skills gained by some of their peers during the wider Wor Walker photography project. The young people had excellent ideas on presenting the pictures and decided to have a booklet of the collages collated and printed to share with their community.

Results

The club is distributing the collages widely to young people and funders to show what they’ve achieved and is now planning an exhibition of the work in the near future.

Benefits for Participants

The young people worked in teams and built their communication skills as well as learning new ways of presenting their ideas photographically. They really enjoyed working with iPad technology.

Funder

The John Boste Youth Centre in Walker commissioned us to do the project as part of their activities programme.

Who Else Would Benefit from this Sort of Project

This approach is a very effective way of involving young people to develop transferable skills, team working and a great sense of achievement.
