Camera Action Showcase

Celebrating the groups taking part in the Camera Action workshops.

it was a pleasure to come along to support your celebration. I was really impressed by the quality of the work you have been doing with such a wide and diverse group of young people.

Who Took Part

Groups from all over Gateshead including Crossroads for Carers, One Voice, Gateshead Youth Assembly and the Avenues Project. Everyone who took part had a positive experience. The organisations were really pleased to have been able to give access to such workshops to the young people involved, as many are from very disadvantaged backgrounds.

To celebrate the achievement of all the groups who took part in the first phase of Camera Action workshops.

Project Outline

The Camera Action Video Showcase was attended by young people, their families and friends who gathered to recognise the filmmaking achievements of eight groups from across the borough and watch the twenty films they’d created together in their Camera Action Workshops in just a few months. The groups received certificates and a DVD of their own and other short films as a lasting reminder of their success.

Twenty films including video and animation. Total duration: approx 30 minutes.

Sharing The Results With Others

As well as the screening at this celebration event, each person received a DVD and certificate of achievement.

Benefits for Participants

The groups felt a huge sense of achievement by taking part in the showcase; seeing their work on a big screen and received their deserved applause raises self esteem.

Clients and/or Funding

Gala Field Youth Centre, Newcastle City Council, Connexions Tyne and Wear (Positive Activities for Young People).

Who Else Would Benefit From This Sort of Project
