Want to join DV board?

22nd June 2019

Digital Voice for Communities is expanding its board of directors to build on more than a decade of delivering services to narrow the digital divide. Drawing on our award-winning track record, our team works with public, private and third sector organisations to engage and empower people of all ages and abilities, particularly from marginalised communities.

Our website has details of the six main services to participants, and there's links to DV social media. The stories of beneficiaries range from learning disabled people, young carers, survivors of domestic abuse to intergenerational schemes and participants experiencing dementia. We are based in the North East of England, although services have been delivered in other parts of the UK and internationally.

Our social enterprise is seeking to strengthen its board with two new appointments:

  • Chair – this role has previously been shared collaboratively, but the directors have agreed now is the time for the focus of a single chair – see role spec here.
  • Treasurer – this role has been carried out by a director in conjunction with other roles, and the growth of the organisation means that financial oversight would benefit from individual attention – see role spec here.

We would be happy to provide more information – please contact Julie Nicholson, Social Enterprise Administrator. Expressions of interest with CV appreciated by 30 August 2019, to be emailed to julie@digitalvoice.org.uk or in writing to Digital Voice, Chopwell Community Centre, Derwent Street, Gateshead, Tyne & Wear, NE17 7HS.
