School creates internet safety films

9th April 2010

Students at Haydon Bridge High School decided to improve knowledge about how to stay safe when using the internet by making films to be shown in assemblies and to promote discussions in class.

They looked at problems such as identity fraud, the potential dangers of meeting strangers in chat rooms and how to act responsibly online.

They were supported by Digital Voice for Communities, and Northumberland County Council’s Learning and Development Service.

Project organizer Julie Nicholson said ‘We hope the films will be shown far and wide to raise awareness of these important issues’.
