The Digital Photography Club’s exhibition at Newcastle City Library shows a remarkable range of pictures. Now the group’s efforts have been rewarded ‒ their work has been very well-received and the exhibition has been extended until 9 August.
The pilot scheme, using iPads in innovative ways, ran for ten weeks. It proved such a success that two new courses have been confirmed for the autumn.
The aim was to create an inclusive group for young people to achieve two benefits: to learn about photography and make new friends.
The culmination was an enjoyable exhibition launch party with friends and family, where they were awarded certificates of achievement by Emily Wilson, Arts Development Officer for Newcastle City Council.
The group is funded by Newcastle Council’s Arts Development Team. It will continue from September until March 2013, with places offered to twice the number of participants.
